This time of year truly zooms! We have been working extremely hard in second grade, with strong momentum and focus as we wrap up units of study and even begin new ones! We are now fully immersed in the Rain Forest. We are currently writing poetry about our favorite rain forest animal. Our mural looks awesome and continues to "grow"!
Our new Math Investigations Unit is on Measurement. We are exploring both linear measurement and time. We are working with a variety of linear units including inches, feet, and yards. We measured and compared our length of jumps- kid jumps, frog jumps and rabbit jumps.

End of Year Field Trip
Mark your calendars: All of the first and second grade classes will be going to the Montshire Museum on June 4th!
A word from the Montshire: "When you visit Montshire's 100-acre Museum, you enter an exciting world
of science, nature, and technology. Our spacious and light-filled
building easily holds both permanent exhibits and featured exhibitions.
The exploration continues outside in Science Park, the Woodland Garden,
and along the nature trails bordering the beautiful Connecticut River.
Whether you are experiencing the Museum for the first time or the
hundredth, every visit is a new experience."
We are very excited for this field trip! Chaperones welcome! More details to come.
