Our scary-cute trolls!

For the past two weeks, children worked in small groups preparing for a retell of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The mathematical skills included in this unit were weighing, sorting and comparing, estimating and verifying, handling money, geometry and measuring. Each component involved problem solving, mathematical reasoning and communication. Children used the necessary mathematics in meaningful ways to complete each step, culminating in a retell with story maps, props and models.
